Constructive Learning Design is a Canadian eLearning development company based in Southwestern Ontario that provides pre-developed and custom-developed eLearning modules. Using established learning theory, best practices, and multimedia design, Constructive Learning Design provides cost-effective solutions for organizations looking to introduce or enhance their training and development programs.

My name is Riley-Jay Foster, and I have been developing eLearning modules since 2019. I became interested in developing eLearning as it combined my interests in program development, media design, and, most importantly, learning. I found the multi-disciplinary field of eLearning as rewarding as it was interesting. The implementation of an eLearning project is valuable for organizations, and it was thrilling to me knowing the audience for the content I published was building the needed skills, knowledge, or abilities at the workplace.

I have a significant educational background related to supporting the training and development functions of organizations. I graduated from the University of Guelph with a Bachelor of Commerce, Majoring in Leadership and Organizational Management. The coursework for this program focused on Human Resources, Organizational behaviour, and Leadership Competencies.

Since graduating, I have also completed a certificate program from the University of Toronto School of Continuing Studies in Learning Design. The coursework included in this certificate covered Adult Learning Theory, Learning design, and Designing Learning Evaluation. I also completed Durham College’s eLearning Developer certificate program, which featured coursework on eLearning Project Management, LMS Platforms, Web Design, Accessible design, and eLearning tools.

My most recent educational milestone was the completion of my Master of Industrial Relations and Human Resources from the University of Toronto. This is a professional degree graduate program designed to train students in the latest innovations and best practises within industrial relations and human resources management. I also completed a collaborative specialization in Workplace Learning and Social change, which included additional work on developing an understanding of work and learning within broader social context.

Professionally, I have over five years of work experience in the Human Resources field, primarily working within the municipal sector. During this time, I was responsible for administering a HRIS and LMS while creating learning content.

I also possess my Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP) designation from the HRPA. At this time, I do not consult or provide HR services as an independent practitioner.
